Jofa's Joan S. Meyers
Memorial Torah Lending Program
The Sefer Torah has been generously lent to Jofa by Shari and Nathan Lindenbaum, in memory of Max and Ghity Stern. The lending program is generously supported by Leon Meyers and family, in memory of Joan S. Meyers.
The Sefer Torah is available within the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tri-state area, to individuals or groups seeking to enhance Shabbat, Rosh Chodesh, Simchat Torah, holiday gatherings, and/or celebrate events, such as bar/bat mitzvahs, marriages, births, and other milestones.
If you are located outside of the tri-state area, please contact us at jofa@jofa.org, and we will work with you to find a solution near you!
The Torah and accompanying religious articles (aron, siddurim, etc.) are loaned on a first-come, first served basis. They must be reserved in advance. Pick-up and drop-off is in Teaneck, New Jersey. There is a $100 deposit.
To reserve the Torah and/or its accompanying religious articles, please email us at jofa@jofa.org, identifying yourself, date(s) and item(s) needed, and your reason for utilizing the lending program. Someone will contact you to confirm availability and details.
Thank you for your interest!
Feedback About the Torah Lending Program
Laura Berger,
Kavod Partnership Minyan
We knew there was a desire in our community for a traditional Orthodox service that allowed women to have a greater role.
We had a great turnout and Jofa's TLP helped it happen!
Thank you so much!"
Ann E. Shinnar,
Teaneck Women's Tefillah
"Teaneck Women's Tefillah (TWT) is very grateful for the opportunity to borrow the Jofa Sefer Torah, through the Joan S. Meyers Memorial Torah Lending Program.
TWT used the Jofa Sefer Torah at our annual Simchat Torah celebration. Approximately 45 women participated in our davening, hakafot, and leyning service on Yom Tov.
We made arrangements to borrow the Jofa Sefer Torah by contacting Pamela Greenwood, who in turn gave us the guidelines for the steps involved. We very much respect the process that Jofa has established for lending this Sefer Torah."
