The presence of domestic violence is a tragedy in any community, at any frequency. How can we confront this violence with a Jewish lens and in a Jewish context? This section highlights the importance of breaking the silence on the presence of domestic abuse in the Jewish community, and the role of Orthodox feminism can play in helping the community speak about, learn and heal from, and prevent, domestic abuse.

Synopsis: Miklat runs the only shelters in Israel catering to the unique needs of religious women and their children who have been caught in the vise of domestic violence and child abuse. Miklat also funds the Israel Center for Family Justice, providing free legal representation to women of all backgrounds who have been victims of domestic violence.
